New Digital Collage - Resonant Empathy
Part Of The Inner Space Series. Resonant Empathy is a Digital Collage which reverbrates like a tuning fork with the experiences of another and chimes a deeply resonant note within. Empathy is a natural capacity we share that enables us to feel into and understand the pains, trials, tribulations and joys of our common humanity. We get to the heart of a matter by opening up, listening attentively and picking up that which occurs in each other; as well as in the space between us. By practicing Empathy we learn to lay aside our own predjudices, predilictions and agendas in service of entering into the lived experiences of another person, stepping into their shoes and seeing the world from their eyes.
When we meet at this deeper level, we reach out and bridge the gaps between one and other; We can form powerful bonds, erode isolation and gain new insights, whilst providing sustenance and support to those around us. By really taking in the experiences of others, the act of empathy changes us; like a chemical reaction the interaction alters both parties, promoting growth, and deepening understanding of other people, of our own self, of how we relate, of the nature of meaning in our lives, and of the brilliance and burdens of the existences that we share.
Announcement- The Free Form Trouble - Rare Monster Sighting Archives
Here at Free Form Trouble we scour the worlds greatest Libraries, Aquire the most deeply classified military documents and trade in the most exotic black markets to uncover, catalogue and record these rarest of beasts in the annals of our archives. Whilst (Hopefully) most of these creatures have disappeared many moons ago, We are commited to recording their details here in case we ever encounter their Ilk again. So without further ado Rare Monster Sighting #1: The Great Winged Aphyatrix.

This is the only surviving photographic record of this terrifying beast. Allied Troops are seen here taking cover during a chance encounter with a Great Winged Aphyatrix on the battlefield. Reaching over 45 Meters tall and with a wingspan of 30 Meters the Aphyatrix is completely flightless, but it is extremely venomous and with razor sharp talons it is capable of running at top speeds of 24km. Although they were hunted to extinction only as recently as the 1980's its already hard to believe that such frightening creatures ever existed!

Showing tonight are two of my Analog Collage pieces: 'Devoured By The Bird of Gluttony' (2018) and 'The Desolate Isolation Of Pride' (2018) On display at the Purgatorio & Friends exhibition in the beautiful Confraternita dei Disciplinati, Somano, Italy.
For this show on Purgatory I envisioned the potential punishments for two of the 7 Deadly Sins. Gluttony (Being Devoured) and Pride (Isolation). It is Visceral Work in a Visceral Medium on a Visceral Topic with lots of tearing and harsh imagery.

Announcement - The Conscious Baby Program @ The Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Health (APPPAH)
I am very proud to announce that I have had my logo selected by the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health this week in the re-branding of their Conscious Baby Program. The APPPAH carries out pioneering research in understanding how the conditions of the intrauterine environment, birth and early infancy influence human development.
Through this they gain fascinating insight into the importance of strong parental bonding experiences, attunement, communication, loving responsive attention, and how these things help to develop healthy attachment patterns, resilience, stronger immune systems, better emotional self-regulation and a deeply ingrained sense of self-worth.
At the same time deepening our understanding of what happens when pre-natal, birth or early life neglect, distress and trauma occur; how this presents in later life and this leads us to more informed and effective Psychotheraputic practices.
After all if we wish to fully understand any story we need to start at the beginning.

New Digital Collage - An Emergence To Consciousness
An Emergence To Consciousness is a Digital Collage which manifests into being by synthesizing meaning from our environments and experiences. Our intuition guides our focus, absorbing some information and highlighting some aspects of our experience and editing out other elements based on our immediate situation; but also through the most intimate elements of ourselves, our personal histories, our values, our interests, our agendas, our vices, our pleasures, our hates and our loves. A subtle and powerful process of questioning. What feels pertinent? What feels meaningful? What feels right?
In Gestalt psychology we describe this process as a figure (That is something of meaning, needing our attention) which emerges from the background of our experience, to be engaged with and then when the necessary change comes about the figure of our focus fades into the background again, altering it to in the process. There is a cycle to our experience of the world, awareness, engagement, creative enterprise, integration and finally a return to rest, making space for a new figure to emerge into awareness.

Collage by its very nature is a medium that is uniquely placed to reflect, distort and even clarify social and political issues by virtue of its appropriation and reorganization of mass media imagery. Throughout the process of selecting imagery, cutting, placement and following his/her own intuitive and aesthetic sense to a satisfying composition, a skilled collage artist manages to pull in many various sources of digital and printed media. When the blades come out, the artist filters this vast array of visual and textual source material through their experiences of living in this world with its triumphs and trials, producing in the end a singular reflection on the times in which we live. Join artist Anthony D Kelly for a presentation and discussion on The Politics of Collage, Satire and Global Citizenship at the end of the discussion he will hold a One Hour Collage Salon in which he will invite participants to sit, work and discuss these themes with each other while making collage.

Anthony D Kelly is a Freelance Illustrator, Writer and Visual Arts Practitioner. He currently bases his practice in Castlebar, County Mayo located on Irelands West Coast.He has extensive experience as a Gallery Administrator, Curator and Project Facilitator from his time at Basement Project Space an artist led initiative which was based in Cork City, Ireland. The aim of this initiative was to generate an exhibition/project space independent of established institutions, to provide development opportunities for emerging artists and to encourage cutting edge experimental practice across a broad range of disciplines.
He has studied both Arts Administration and Arts Participation and Global Development and he is currently training in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. Anthony is greatly interested in the Arts as an effective method for engagement with Social, Political and Global Development issues. He works mainly with Illustration, Collage and Assemblage techniques to create humorous, unnerving and deeply satirical imagery"

It is fantastic news to hear that the Collagistas Festival #5 will be held in Dublin this September 13th-16th 2018. Collagistas Festival is a celebration of contemporary collage. Our primary purpose is to create an opportunity where collage artists from all over the world can come together to share ideas and thoughts about their collage practise and to disseminate this information through workshops and presentations. We provide a platfom to explore and discuss how collage is made and the role of collage in contemporary visual culture. We do this through the organisation of an annual exhibition and the facilitation of workshops and presentations. Our aim is also to engage the general public and the wider art community in these discussions. Our principle objectives are to maintain an international network of collage artists and to bring collage to a wider audience.
Collagistas Festival ≠5 will be held in Dublin, from 13th - 16th of September 2018 at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios.
