New Digital Collage - Colony Collapse

This last week has seen some intense heat across Europe breaking all sorts of records. There has been a notable absence of Bees this summer too; its August already and I think I have only seen one Bee this season so far. He popped in my window for a minute or two before departing again on his journey, I hope he found whatever he was looking for out there.

This odd weather has inspired me to return once again to the creative activism of Extinction Rebellion the mobilsation of global climate activism and mixing up the #Extinctionsymbol with digital collage techniques. The symbol below represents extinction. The circle signifies the planet, while the hourglass inside serves as a warning that time is rapidly running out for many species. The world is currently undergoing a mass extinction event, and this symbol is intended to help raise awareness of the urgent need for change in order to address this crisis. This image is Colony Collapse, named after Colony Collapse Disorder which has been plaguing Bee populations globally as their numbers plummet.

New Digital Collages - Extinction Symbols: Land, Air and Sea

"Extinction Symbols” (2019) - Digital Collages . I felt inspired this week by the Student Cimate Strike, the powerful words of Greta Thunberg, the creative activism of @extinctionrebellion and the mobilisation of global climate activism. So I decided to play around and mix up their Extinction Symbol using Digital Collage techniques. Here are three versions Land, Air and Sea. Anyone wishing to make use of any/all of these three images have my express permission to do so.
